Will AI replace your job in sales and presenting? Or, will AI assist you to be even more engaging and influential?

Got something important to say? Are you worried you’ll forget your lines on camera? Look no further! AI can now help you “look at the camera”.

We may not (yet) be replaced by technology but we can use it to assist us to stay connected.

Are you scared by that? Excited?

I used Loom yesterday and it automatically populated the heading and subtitles.

We have had AI in place for a while – spell check, predictive text, location settings when searching etc
Then it crept in, subtitles, predictive text..

Now the difference is the average Joe can use it. Sales Leaders can use it. Sales People can use it.

How? These are some of the areas I’m seeing:

Presenters: technology that inserts your eyes.
Blogs: type in ChatGPT and go and make a coffee
Chatbots: can handle routine customer queries
Google review: option of replies

Customer Relationship Management: (CRM) Systems: AI-powered CRM systems can assist sales teams in managing customer data, tracking interactions
Sales Performance Analysis:  analyse sales data, and performance metrics to identify patterns,
Natural Language Processing (NLP): analyse sales calls, and emails to extract insights into customer thoughts and objections
Sales Forecasting:
algorithms can analyse historical data, and market trends and predict future behaviours

Lead Qualification: algorithms can are assessing leads based on predefined criteria, prioritising prospects.

All these are to SAVE A SALES PERSONS TIME
All this saved time is to form stronger, more meaningful relationships where your salesperson is adding value and helping.
Remember a sale happens whilst you are busy helping a client.

So, if you have these in place, and your salesperson is still neck deep in admin, ask yourself, is it real admin – i.e. do you need those reports or is it a habit they have yet to let go of?

I am interviewing the wonderful Jon Yeo from TEDx Melbourne and asking him about all things AI and the question “will AI take over our jobs”.  Jon had a chat with me yesterday and offered these insights.

From a technology perspective

– Using AI to predict/identify topical trends you can write articles for (including headlines, social post copy etc)

– Using AI to create catchy images for blog posts or social media

– Predicting the best time to post on your social media

– Competitor analysis of their keywords, themes and styles

– Pick the best meeting time (not just available time)

– Analyse how to approach a prospect (https://www.crystalknows.com/ does a disc analysis of their LinkedIn profile to tell you which style you need to have to solve problems, make a sale etc. I tried it on my oldest friend’s profile and it was very accurate)

AI will help us move faster, smarter and with more precision. If you aren’t using AI, you will be left behind.

Microsoft is putting it into ALL its products. Microsoft’s Edge browser will monitor what websites you go to (with your permission) and suggest related websites, recommend email responses, craft copy, tell you the sentiment for that brand, the website’s global ranking and traffic and how visitors found the site.

I think it’s entirely possible for AI to do pre-sales jobs and possibly pre-sales meetings. It is well known that Gen Y prefers taking financial advice and medical advice from a bot over a person. If people no longer Google your site, how valuable is your SEO? This is the main reason Google didn’t add AI to their offerings until they absolutely had to.
